Railroad Crossing Signal Inspection, Installation and Service

About Diamondback Signal, LLC

Diamondback Signal, LLC provides signal expertise to short line and regional railroads. Our company offers a variety of signal services specializing in FRA mandated monthly inspections and maintenance. We also offer solutions in all areas of the Rail Crossing Signal Installation business, using a turn-key approach, from survey through design to installation of railroad signal warning systems.

The Diamondback Signal staff is composed of highly experienced railroad signal people. The firm’s management, engineering, and field personnel are qualified to complete the full range of projects related to railroad signaling.

Diamondback Signal is fully insured and licensed, has the personnel, equipment, vehicles, tools and material necessary to complete any signal project on time and within the budget.

Diamondback Signal’s field staff members are in a variety of locations, enabling us to respond quickly to your “trouble calls”. As a result of our thorough maintenance/inspection program, and the availability of qualified local signalmen, out-of-service periods for signal systems are significantly reduced, if not eliminated.

Diamondback’s services are provided at a cost significantly lower than what you would incur by employing and equipping adequate in-house staff. Many railroads hire part-time individuals to meet their signal requirements. Diamondback can perform this work at comparable cost and, in addition, provide an improved product backed by the experience of our entire organization.

INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Diamondback Signal, LLC performs regularly scheduled FRA required monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and maintenance. We also provide FRA required relay and cable testing every four and ten years, respectively. Complete and detailed records of all maintenance, inspection, and testing are kept in each equipment housing, and copied to the railroad offices. Copies of all records are also maintained at our office.

Our maintenance program includes troubleshooting and repair, material supply, and rehabilitation services. Diamondback Signal will inspect the signal system and give your railroad’s management a complete and detailed report on the condition of each location. This report includes recommendations, a priority list, and a cost estimate for each repair or replacement. When there are feasible alternatives, we identify them for your consideration.

PLANNING, DESIGN, WIRING AND INSTALLATION

In the event you are considering installation of a new highway crossing warning system, Diamondback Signal, LLC can provide complete engineering support. Diamondback representatives will meet with railroad and/or governmental officials to review train operations, survey the crossing layout and discuss the alternatives.

We will provide plans of proposed alternatives, with preliminary cost estimates  for your consideration and/or submission to the applicable governmental agency or industrial client. Once authorized, Diamondback will complete the design, provide drawings, and prepare a complete list of material. We can solicit bids for material from approved manufacturers and procure the material from the bid deemed the most responsive relative to price and delivery schedule.

Diamondback Signal will wire and completely test the system before preparing the system for shipment. We will then deliver and install the system, including final testing and adjustment.  Diamondback Signal provides a turn-key approach, from survey through design, wiring, and installation.
